Ways to win a debate: after it becomes obvious that you're wrong, say that you were the one that proposed the winning argument in the first place. This is especially effective if you and your debatee both have memory issues.
I really relate to this. While I'd love o stay in bed until I'm good and ready to get up, sometimes I have early morning appointments to get up for. So I set the alarm clock. Then I start worrying that it won't go off, so I check it again. Invariably, I do not sleep well because I am afraid I won't get up in time. The thought of being late for an appointment is UNBEARABLE for me! But I always get up, usually well before the alarm goes off. And I'm not really that tired - more keyed up.
